Wordsmith, by Dave Darrigo and R.G. Taylor, was a twelve issue series about a pulp writer in the 1930s, focusing on his daily life but then printing excerpts from the stories in various genres he would write. In one issue the letters column printed a letter from Harlan Ellison. While this information has been confirmed (in this 2015 interview with writer Dave Darrigo, I do not know what issue the letter appeared in. It ran for twelve issues from August 1985 to January 1988.
